Overview
- The Clerk’s Office is committed to facilitating public access to court dockets, documents, and calendars consistent with the Federal Rules, Judiciary ethics standards, and local rules and orders.
- It is the policy of the Court that Clerk’s Office and chambers staff are prohibited from commenting on any pending case.
- Members of the public and journalists are expected to understand and comply with the Court's guidance on contacting the Court, courthouse access, and the use of electronic devices while visiting the courthouse.
- When a remote option is made available to view a public hearing, participants must follow all Instructions to View a Public Hearing. No video or audio of a public hearing can be copied, shared, or recorded using any recording device without the express permission of the Court.
Media Contact and Communications
Journalists are expected to make their best effort to obtain answers to questions by reviewing the Court’s public website and utilizing publicly accessible information and databases, such as the Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER). Where the information sought is not available through public means, journalists may submit requests for information to the Court’s Media Helpdesk via the following email: media@alnd.uscourts.gov. Clerk’s Office staff are prohibited from communicating with journalists related to preliminary planning on any individual case.
